Retraction and Correction Policy
IURIS NOTITIA : JURNAL ILMU HUKUM is committed to upholding the integrity of the literature and publishes Errata, Expressions of Concern, or Retraction Notices dependent on the situation and following the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
Types of Corrections and Actions
Erratum
A notice correcting significant errors that affect the integrity of the work but do not invalidate the overall conclusions.
Expression of Concern
A notice informing readers that there are serious concerns about the reliability of findings, pending further investigation.
Retraction
A formal notice withdrawing a published article due to serious errors, misconduct, or ethical violations that invalidate the findings.
Grounds for Retraction
IURIS NOTITIA : JURNAL ILMU HUKUM will consider retracting a publication if:
- They have clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct (e.g., data fabrication) or honest error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error)
- The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper cross referencing, permission or justification (i.e., cases of redundant publication)
- It constitutes plagiarism
- It reports unethical research
Retraction Mechanism
The mechanism of retraction follows the COPE Retraction Guidelines. When an article is retracted:
- A Retraction Notice is published and linked to the original article
- The notice identifies the retracted article (title, authors, DOI)
- The retraction is published promptly to minimize harmful effects
- The retraction notice is freely accessible to all readers
- The reason(s) for retraction are stated in a factual and objective manner
- All indexing services and databases are notified of the retraction
Author Responsibilities
Authors have a responsibility to promptly notify the journal if they discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work. Authors should:
- Inform the Editor-in-Chief immediately upon discovering errors
- Cooperate with the editorial team to correct or retract the article
- Provide accurate information about the nature and extent of the error
- Assist in notifying co-authors and institutions if necessary
